Facilities
To accommodate a continual growth in membership the Club is regularly developing and upgrading facilities which provide a fantastic opportunity for all players to develop their skills and enjoy the game of cricket.
Weedons Domain Pavillion
We officially the opened the new Weedons Community Centre on April 5, 2019, which is the new home for the Weedons Cricket Club. It’s been 140 years since our establishment in 1879 and we have grown from just one team to an astounding 39 Junior, Youth & Senior teams. Exciting times are ahead for the Weedons Cricket Club and we look forward to many future years of use, especially holding all our cups and trophies!
The Pavillion is available for community events.
Weedons Oval Development
Weedons Cricket Club has continued to invest in the development of its facilities at Weedons Domain to support the growth of cricket across the club and wider Selwyn community.
Major development of the main cricket oval began in 2016, including extending the boundaries to a minimum of 60+ metres. This made Weedons one of the leading cricket facilities in the Canterbury Country South region and capable of hosting higher-level representative cricket, including Hawke Cup fixtures.
Weedons 1 has since undergone significant improvements, including an extended playing area, full irrigation and dedicated artificial and grass practice facilities.
Weedons 2 continues to provide an important additional playing ground for the club.
Further development across Weedons Domain has continued as the club has grown, with improvements to additional playing areas, training facilities and infrastructure helping Weedons cater for its expanding senior, junior and community cricket programmes.
The club remains committed to continually improving Weedons Domain and providing quality cricket facilities for current and future generations.
